Email marketing for solar companies with a database going cold

Most installers are sitting on three hundred quotes that were never signed and never followed up. That list is the cheapest pipeline in the business. We segment it, write to it every fortnight and automate the three moments where a quote either comes back or dies for good.

The quote went out, and then silence

A buyer asks three installers, gets three PDFs and takes four months to decide because the works get postponed, the subsidy call moves or the grid connection stalls. Nobody writes to them in that gap. When they finally decide, they call whoever was still in front of them, which is rarely the firm that sent the best number.

Newsletter & CRM

Segmented CRM

Your database cleaned and cut by what actually predicts a signature: type of installation, kWp, stage of the quote, plaza and whether the roof was surveyed. Set up in the tool you already pay for whenever possible.

Fortnightly newsletter, written and sent

Copy, design and delivery included. Regulation that changed, a subsidy call closing, one installation with its output figures. Written to be useful to someone deciding, not to fill a slot.

Three automations that earn their keep

Welcome for new enquiries, cold site-visit nurture for quotes that went quiet, and stalled-job recovery for works that were paused. Each one triggered by what the contact does, not by a calendar.

Sales handover rules

When a contact is warm enough, it lands on a salesperson with the history attached: what they read, what they were quoted and how much it was for. No one calls blind.

Deliverability, consent and the boring part

SPF, DKIM and DMARC configured, consent recorded, unsubscribes honoured. Boring right up to the day your quotes start landing in spam.

How it runs

  1. 01

    01 · Database audit

We take what you have — CRM, spreadsheets, the inbox — and tell you how many contacts are real, how many are usable and how many quotes are still recoverable.

  2. 02

    02 · Segments and stages

We define the cuts and the stages a quote passes through, and agree what counts as warm. That definition is what the automations later act on.

  3. 03

    03 · Build and launch

Templates, the three automations and the first newsletter go live in the first six weeks, with the consent and deliverability side sorted before the first send.

  4. 04

    04 · Send, read, adjust

Every fortnight the newsletter goes out; every month we read opens, clicks and, above all, site visits booked from email — and change what the numbers say to change.

What changes

  • Quotes that went quiet come back to the table instead of ageing in a folder.

  • Site visits get booked straight from an email, with the history already on the salesperson’s screen.

  • Your database stops being a list of names and starts being a forecast.

  • Seasonality hurts less: the newsletter keeps you in front through the slow months.

Questions

Our database is a mess. Is that a problem?

It is the normal starting point. The first job is cleaning and consent: what can be written to, what cannot, and what is worth recovering. It is usually the fastest win in the whole engagement.

Do we need to change CRM?

Only if the one you have genuinely cannot segment or automate. We would rather work inside the tool your team already opens every morning than sell you a migration.

Who writes the newsletter?

We do, from the sector and from what your crews are actually installing. You get it for approval; the whole review usually takes fifteen minutes a fortnight.

What do you measure?

Opens and clicks are hygiene. The number that counts is site visits booked from email, and after that the quotes those visits produce.

Is emailing old quotes legal?

Writing to someone who asked you for a quote is normally covered, but it depends on how the consent was collected and recorded. The audit checks exactly that before a single send goes out.
